What is flexible work in Belgium?

Flexible work is an umbrella term for employment types where the number of hours, the contract type or the shift make-up varies. Think of flexi-jobs, student work, temp contracts, self-planning and last-minute call-outs — each with its own contract, its own Dimona flow and its own tax regime.

In Belgium this field is strictly regulated: every type has its own pay scales, Dimona obligations and CBA exceptions. Forganiser follows those rules automatically — you schedule, we handle the contract, the Dimona and the payroll.

Frequently asked questions

I regularly need extra hands at peak times — flexi-job or student?

Both work. A flexi-jobber (with a fixed daily wage and 25% NSSO) is favourable for repeat use of the same people; students are cheaper within their hour quota (475 hours/year with reduced NSSO). Forganiser lets you deploy both at the same site and works out which contract is the most advantageous.

My team only sees at the last moment who can work — is that legal?

Yes, with the right type of contract. For last-minute call-outs you use a framework agreement with an on-call contract, or a flexi-job — for every actual shift a separate Dimona filing is made. Forganiser sends open shifts as push notifications and files the Dimona automatically.

Can I work with a temp agency through Forganiser?

Yes. Forganiser connects to temp agencies so you see their candidates in the same schedule as your permanent staff. Time worked flows automatically to the temp agency for invoicing.

My staff want to pick their own hours — how do I limit the risks?

Self-planning is legal within the limits of rest periods, hourly maxima and CBA agreements. In Forganiser you set maxima per staff member or team (hours, consecutive days, night shifts) and the app automatically blocks shifts that would exceed those limits.

What's the difference between flexitime and self-planning?

Flexitime = a fixed core roster with start/end flexibility inside a band. Self-planning = staff pick shifts from a pool. Flexitime suits office teams arriving between 8h-10h; self-planning suits crews drawing from a shift pool. Forganiser supports both.
